Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is produced by allowing either crushed apples or simply apple juice to ferment. The sugars in the apple or juice turn into alcohol and then to acetic add - a key ingredient in apple cider vinegar that is also responsible for giving it the sour taste.
Importance of the "Mother"
While some health benefits may be related to acetic acid, other studies have shown that synergistic compounds within vinegar offer additional health benefits. In Apple Cider Vinegar, these compounds are found in the mother. The compounds in the Mother are believed to be the source of the real magic of ACV.
